The village is associated with the site of the lost or shrunken medieval village of Ingthorpe.[3]
Burghley House is a grand 16th-century English country house near the town of Stamford, Lincolnshire, England. Its park was laid out by Capability Brown.
In the 'newer part of the village' Queniborough Road to Syston Road (all 20th century properties) is the Post Office and corner shop open Monday to Saturday 7.30am to 7pm. A little further along the road is M+H News, the village Newsagent who sells many other things including old fashioned-from a jar sweets, tobacco and small food items, and who also delivers daily and Sunday newspapers.
The Concrete Cows in Milton Keynes, England are an iconic work of sculpture, created in 1978 by Canadian-born artist, Liz Leyh.[1] There are three cows and three calves, approximately half life size.
A "toy town" wooden ticket office that stood on the railway bridge, facing out onto Newport Road, with steps leading down to the platform was actually the third location for a station in Wolverton. The original temporary stop was on the embankment above Wolverton Park, a larger station and refreshment rooms were soon built at a location behind what is now Glyn Square. In the 1880s the main line was re-routed to the east to allow for expansion and the current station site has been in use since. The wooden station stood here for over 100 years, however Milton Keynes Borough Council did not make it a listed building and British Rail demolished it in 1991.
