Felixstowe

A museum telling the story of Felixstowe, with a reference library, historic maps, photo archive and 14 rooms of artefacts from Roman finds, the Martello towers, military social and domestic history through two world wars and into the new millennium is managed by volunteers from the Felixstowe History and Museum Society. It is located in the old submarine mining establishment building at Landguard Point, between the Fort and Port.[citation needed]

Felixstowe Beach railway station

The original engine shed was sited at Felixstowe Beach station but was closed once the Great Eastern Railway had taken over the line in 1887. However a need to find extra capacity for carriage painting led to the facility re-opening in 1893. Several of the publications report the facility repainting up to 2,000 carriages per year. Unfortunately it burned down in the 1930s.[3][1]

Alexandra Park, Ipswich

In 1903, the Ipswich Corporation purchased one of six packages of land which was formerly part of the Hill House Estate and home of the Byles family. The land became parkland and was named Alexandra Park after the wife of Edward VII.
