The Finnish Seamen's Mission and church (Suomen Merimieskirkko, Finlands Sjömanskyrka) is located at 33 Albion Street, Rotherhithe, London, SE16 (51°29²58³N 0°3²11³W / 51.49944°N 0.05306°W / 51.49944; -0.05306). The current rector is the Revd Teemu Hälli. The church also has a shop selling Finnish products and has hostel accommodation for visitors to London.
The Terrace was used as a location for the filming of The Invasion (Doctor Who) in 1968.
All 42 houses are Grade I listed buildings.[1] They were designed by John Nash and built by James Burton in 1825. At each end of the terrace there is a Corinthian arch bearing at the top the terrace name in large lettering on a blue background, probably the largest street signs in London. Five of the houses are semi-detached. One of the semi-detached houses, Nash House (3 Chester Terrace, although the main entrance is on Chester Gate), has a bust of John Nash on its west side,[1] looking identical to the bust on All Souls Church, Langham Place.
Snaresbrook station is a London Underground station on the Central Line, located in Snaresbrook. The station is in Zone 4, between Leytonstone and South Woodford tube stations.
The Colegrave family continued to hold Cann Hall as a country estate in the early 19th century. Its tenants were among those whose livestock was permitted to graze on the adjacent Wanstead Flats, which at the time belonged to The Crown. With others they fought against the buying up of the Flats by private landowners, but in 1851-2 they lost part of the Flats in a protracted legal battle (though later much of the land was saved for the public, and is now administered by the City of London Corporation).
