How to Make the Move Easier for Your Pet Dog
Published on Tuesday, 21 September 2010

How to Make the Move Easier for Your Pet Dog Pets generally feel the stress that you are feeling. That is why they are also affected by the hassle and inconvenience of the move. Of course, they are displaced from the routine they are used to so they know that something is up.

To make the move easier on your pet dog, it would be best to prepare him for the journey. For one, make sure that your pet is used to driving already. If he's not, then take him on short drives weeks before you make the move.

On the day of the move, your pet dog should be fed but not 4 hours before the trip. Make regularly stops for drinking and toilet. Avoid heavy traffic though as constant stop and start could make them dizzy and nauseous too. And while the car is moving do not let him put his head out to prevent eye damage.

Of course, bring some water for your pets too. You should even bring more for the next couple of days just to be sure that your dog would be able to adjust to a different quality of water gradually.

Put some towels in the car if your pet dog salivates a lot. You can also put your pet in a crate. Just make sure that you have grid matting so your pet would remain dry the whole time.
