It is very understandable that many people forget a lot of things when they move. The sheer effort - both mental and physical - that a move entails can be really stressful, and people just sometimes cannot stay on top of everything. This is why you need to take extra effort to remember a few essential things that people usually forget.
 
One is to notify everyone that you are moving. For most people just a short telling will suffice, but you also need to especially notify institutions like the credit card company or and notify utilities that you'll be changing your address. It would be bad if your credit card kept billing statements to your old address and you never getting one in your new home, which can accidentally cause your debt to skyrocket. Make sure that all the necessary institutions are informed accordingly.
 
Another good reminder would be to include a checklist of tasks when you plan your move. It's will go a long way in helping you remember the things you need to do and the earlier your start it, the better chance of you being able to find and add tasks as you remember them, and also have more time to devote to each one because you're not in a hurry.
