Tips on How to Efficiently Prepare for the Move You cannot escape packing when you move so you better start doing it as soon as you find out you are moving. Nevertheless, segregate your things first. Separate the things you are going to bring and the things you will discard. If sell them you even raise an amount of money. You can then buy packing materials and start packing non-essential items. Pack by rooms though so all similar items go together. It would also be easier to unload and unpack later. Don't forget to label the boxes too so you will know where each box needs to be. Include a list of the contents too so you will not have to rummage through many boxes should you need something on the first day of your move. Of course, essentials should be in one box for convenience too. Don't forget that you need utilities in your new home too. Make sure that you have electricity, water, cable, telephone and Internet access before you move in. Do this a few weeks before the move so the utility companies will have sufficient time to schedule your home. Still, confirm everything on the week of your move just to be sure. If you are going to hire a removals company, search for a reliable one a few weeks early too so you can find good deals. If family and friends can recommend one, it would even be better. The important thing is you get a company that is skilled in the kind of move you are going to do and they are also trustworthy so you can rest assured that nothing will get stolen.
