Tips on How to Find a Home after Bankruptcy
Published on Thursday, 16 December 2010 Buying a house is out of the question right after bankruptcy. But finding a home to rent would be difficult to find as well. It is even more difficult if you choose to rent from property management company run properties because they approve tenants based on your credit score. Since you have just undergone bankruptcy, you may not be approved. On the other hand, if you choose to rent from private individuals you may be able to negotiate for them to give you another chance. This could work but it may not as well. But when you see the landlord you should be as honest as possible though. And you should show up well-dressed and well-groomed so the landlord will have a reason to trust you. But again, you have to show sincerity in convincing the landlord to rent you a home. You have to show him that you have already learned your lesson after the bankruptcy. Someone will hopefully trust you in the end. You should pay the rent though otherwise you would even have a very hard time getting another landlord to trust you. But if you improve your credit standing, you would even have a chance of buying a home in the future.
