AmblesideThe name came from Old Norse Á-mel-sǽtr = "river ? sandbank ? summer pasture".Loughrigg FellThe fell is surrounded by an unusual amount of open water. To the north the River Rothay flows through Grasmere and Rydal Water before bending around the eastern side of Loughrigg. On the southern flank the River Brathay runs from Elter Water and is also fed by the outfall from Loughrigg Tarn. The two rivers merge at Clappersgate on the south eastern corner of the fell, just before flowing into Windermere. The western boundary is formed by Red Bank (535ft) on the ridge to Silver How. Unnamed becks fall north and south into Grasmere and Elter Water.Rydal, CumbriaRydal is an English village located in the shire (non-metropolitan) county of Cumbria, which is in North West England. Historically within Westmorland, the village of Rydal is situated on the A591 road that runs between Junction 36 of the M6 and Carlisle, England. Located mid-way between Ambleside and Grasmere, the small cluster of houses, church and hotel are significant in the history of English Romantic literature. Not only was William Wordsworth the occupier of Rydal Mount from 1813 to 1850, but Dr. Thomas Arnold ? the famous headmaster of Rugby School ? had a summer home at Fox How in nearby Under Loughrigg. Arnold's son, the poet Matthew Arnold, was a frequent visitor and a close friend of Wordsworth. At the northern end of Rydal Water is White Moss House, believed to be the only house owned by the poet. He bought it for his son, Willie and it remained in the Wordsworth family until the 1930s.[1]PrestonPreston (pronounced /?pr?st?n/(listen)) is a city and non-metropolitan district in Lancashire, England. It is located on the north bank of the River Ribble, and was granted city status in 2002, becoming England's 50th city in the 50th year of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.[1] Preston has a population of 131,900, and lies at the centre of the wider Preston sub-area, which has a population of 184,836, and the Central Lancashire sub-region, with a population of 335,000.[2]Blackburn ArenaThe arena is owned by Peel Holdings, who purchased it from the original owners, Blackburn Council. Planning permission was granted at the time of building for an extra 1,000 or so seats at the back of the arena. It was built to coincide with Manchester's 1996 Olympic bid, with the possibility of boxing contests being held there. WCW (World Championship Wrestling) held a tour event there in 1992, and on the 26th November 1994 Rock band Status Quo held the only concert to date there from their Thirsty Work World Tour.Information by Wikipedia.com
