Beetham

Heversham

Heversham has a variety of recreational facilities, including tennis courts, a bowling green, a swimming pool and even a playground. On top of this, there are rugby, football and hockey fields, as well as a cricket ground and pavilion. The village is also known for its educational prowess, with an award winning primary school and one of the finest 6th form colleges in the region, with attendants from all over the world. It is situated in a beautifully scenic area of the country, with such highlights as Heversham Head, home of the fabled "Magic Rock". There are many buildings of interest in Heversham. For example St. Peters Church, an ornate place of worship, dating back to the 8th Century. There is also one public house, referred to by the locals as the "Bluebell", though it is officially unnamed. A popular site for tourists, Heversham's thriving economy is now mainly focused on serving it's welcome guests. Now part of history existed the Heversham Grammar School that taught for more than 370 years from 1612 till 1984 until it amalgemated with the comprehensive school in Milnthorpe to become the Boarding House and 6th Form College branch of Dallam School. The current headteacher of the conglomerated school is Mr Steven J Holdup (BSc).
