The examinacion of Jam: Wilson of Tunny in Com: Antrim aged fifty yeares or thereabouts taken vpon oath 9 June 1653, Who saith that he Liued at Tunny Glanauy in the beginning of the Rebellion & from thence he came downe to the Tunny where his former residence was with his wife & children haueing but lately remoued from thence Glanauy being at that time taken by the Irish & at his comeing to Tanny aforesaid he was taken by prisoner by one Cormack McCan roe O Neale, & presently after the Irish in all the Country gathering togeather to goe & take Lisnegaruy this examinant was compelled by the said Cormack to goe with one Brian McCormack oge O Neale as a soldier in his Company the said Brian being at that time a Capten under the comand of Sir Phill: O Neille vpon which this examinant went along with the said Brian vntill they came to Lisnegaruy with the rest of the party vnder the comand of the said Sir Phill: & this examinant saith that at their comeing to Lisnegaruy aforesaid his said Capten with his Company charged on & came on the backside of the towne by a place called Louzy Barne & saith that they were presently beaten of by such of the the English then in the towne which came downe against them And being demanded whome he saw or heard of the Irish party that were actiue there against the English or in there company that day who saith that he remembreth not any that were there at that time but such as are dead except one George Sexton whome he saw coming vp in the reare of such of the Irish party which fell on the towne of Louzy Barne aforesaid with a great paire of Boots drawne vp with & a sword he had with him but whether it was drawne out of the said Scabberd or not this examinant doth not remember neither doth he know whether he did beare any comand or not at that time & this examinant saith that he a little time after he saw the said Geo: Sexton ranning away from before the English & could scarce ran by reason of the heauiness of his Boots & also drawne vp as this examinant conceiues And this examinant further saith that he saw Humphry Sexton brother to the said George amongst the said party of Irish when they drew up before the said towne of Lisnegaruy before their falling on with a sword abley his side but whether he bore any comand or not this examinant doth not know neither whether he fell vpon the towne with the rest of the said party of Irish.[4]
