It has shops, including a newsagent, vet, butcher, chemist, off-licence, dog grooming parlour and a fish & chip shop, a large primary school, (Burford School), a public house, a private members club (The Barn Club, for valley residents), a village hall and two small churches (Anglican and Methodist) which form a Local Ecumenical Partnership "The Valley Church", where the local Boy Scout and Girl Guide groups and similar voluntary groups meet. Marlow Bottom is also home to the Rebellion Beer Company, an award winning local brewery producing regular and seasonal beers.
The area underneath the bridge is used for boat storage by the adjacent Scout Water Centre at Longridge.
The current suspension bridge was designed by William Tierney Clark and was built between 1829 and 1832, replacing a wooden bridge further downstream which collapsed in 1828.[2] It is the only suspension bridge across the non-tidal Thames.[4] The Széchenyi Chain Bridge, spanning the River Danube in Budapest, was also designed by William Clark and it is a larger scale version of Marlow bridge.

There are also elections for head girl and the head girl team. The current head girl is Anca Dervis (elected in 2010).
