Perranporth Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P787) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Perranporth Airfield Limited). The aerodrome is not licensed for night use.[2]
Perranzabuloe church has a chancel and nave, a south aisle, and north and south transepts. One of the aisles is known as the Chyverton aisle and housed a pew belonging to the notable local family. The three-stage tower is battlemented, pinnacled and houses a ring of three bells[5].
During the 1960s, 1970s and earlier 1980s the hall deteriorated. It was used in the 1970s and early 1980s as a venue for Truro's famous 'flea market' which proved extremely popular (the bar area and outside entrance is still used for the Truro antiques market right up to the present day). However, by the mid 1980s, Carrick District Council broached the idea of selling City Hall for redevelopment. Ben Luxon, Chris Warner and some Carrick councillors met to discuss the future of the hall. Carrick offered them a 125-year lease on the Hall at £1 a year and £500,000. They accepted and the campaign for a new City Hall began. Five years after taking over the hall, the contractors moved in. Work on the high tech venue took just over 18 months and the inaugural performance took place on November 15th 1997.
Lis Escop (the Kenwyn Vicarage of 1780) became after the establishment of the Diocese of Truro the bishop's palace.[6]
Truro's popularity within Cornwall as the number one destination for retail and leisure, and its role as the administrative centre of the county, is unusual compared to other cities in the country given that it is the fourth most populous settlement in Cornwall.[2] Furthermore, population growth has been slow compared to other Cornish towns and Cornwall as a whole, at 10.5% during the 1971?1998 period.
