The Abbey is self-supporting, with a farm where vegetables are grown and bees, pigs and cattle are kept, a shop which sells wine, honey beeswax, fudge and other items made by religious communities throughout the world, and a gift shop, book shop, and restaurant.
Dawlish Warren railway station serves the seaside resort and holiday camps of Dawlish Warren in Devon, England, at the mouth of the River Exe. The station is on the London to Penzance Line 10½ miles (17 km) west of Exeter St Davids. From here to Teignmouth the railway runs along the Sea Wall.
On 22 September 1921 a Plymouth to Crewe passenger train collided with an Exeter to Newton Abbot goods train which was shunting in the station. The passenger train, hauled by Star Class 4055 Princess Sophia, failed to stop at a danger signal. Cranes cleared the line by lifting damaged wagons onto the beach where they remained for a couple of days.[2]
It is located in Coxside, next to the Barbican harbour and fishmarket. The modern building houses gigantic aquariums, a lecture hall, a cafe and a shop. The largest tank is ten metres deep and can be viewed from several different angles.
The Lord Mayor's official residence is 3 Elliot Terrace, located on the Hoe.[45] Once a home of Waldorf and Nancy Astor, it was given by Lady Astor to the City of Plymouth as an official residence for future Lord Mayors and is also used today for civic hospitality, as lodgings for visiting dignitaries and High Court judges and it is also available to hire for private events.[45] The Civic Centre municipal office building in Armada Way became a listed building in June 2007 because of its quality and period features, but has become the centre of a controversy as the council planned for its demolition estimating that it could cost £40m to refurbish it, resulting in possible job losses.[46]
