Cwmrhydyceirw

Cwmrhydyceirw is a village in Morriston, based in the City and County of Swansea, south Wales. The village is located about 1 mile north of Morriston town centre. It is home to the main campus of Morriston Hospital, Morriston Comprehensive School and Cwmrhydyceirw Primary School. The English translation of the name means "the valley of the stags' ford" which gave rise the name of local pub "The Deer's Leap". However, the name of the village may corrupted from its original, thought to have been "Cwmrhydycwrw" - a reference to the ale-like appearance of the local stream ("cwrw" meaning ale).[1]

Caemawr

Caemawr is best known for being the home of Bishop Vaughan Catholic Comprehensive School.

Ynysforgan

Ynysforgan used to lie on both the main Brecon to Swansea canal which was navigable until the late 50's and a Swansea Valley railway line. The canal was filled in / covered over in the 60's and the route of the railway line has now been used as the Swansea valley by-pass road.
