Margaret Wintringham succeeded her dead husband at the Louth by-election in September 1921, to become the Liberals' first woman MP, and Britain's third woman MP.
Nocton Estates Light Railway was constructed in 1926 and used to transfer Potatoes to the Railhead at Dunston. Also it was used to transfer sugar beet to the factory at Bardney. The light railway rolling stock and track were originally used to move munitions and troops to the front line in WW1.
Further progress and development at the site was made in 1993 with the successful application for a Sports Aid Grant which allowed the laying of two all-weather synthetic grass courts to replace the worn out hard courts. The new synthetic grass is different from that already laid with more sand providing a higher bounce during wet weather in particular.
The settlement of Clee was in existence by the time of the Norman conquest. It formed part of the wider ancient parish of Clee [1] that also included Weelsby to the west and Oole, Itterby and Thrunscoe to the east. The latter three settlements later joined to form the town of Cleethorpes. The southern boundary with Humberston was at Buck Beck.
