Currently, the East stand has a covered stand with seating, with some terracing beneath. The North and West sides are large open terrace, while the South side is the location of hospitality facilities. The stadium capacity is officially listed as 12,000 but can hold up to 13,000 in rare occasions.
The cathedral stands on the site of a Saxon church in the centre of Wakefield. Evidence of the Saxon building was discovered in 1900 when extensions to the east end of the building were made.[1] In 1090 King William II gave the church and land in Wakefield to Lewes Priory in Sussex and shortly after that a Norman church was built. Up to the 16th century the church was known by the Anglo Saxon All Hallows and after the Reformation changed to All Saints.[2] In 1888, the Diocese of Wakefield was created and All Saints church became the diocese's cathedral. Unusually, it also still serves as a parish church, meaning that until 2000 the head of the chapter of canons was called the provost, rather than the dean. In January 2000 a parish boundary change brought the chantry chapel on Wakefield Bridge into the care of the cathedral.[3]
The Church of England diocese of Wakefield covers parishes mainly in West Yorkshire and partly in South Yorkshire with five parishes in North Yorkshire.[100] The Rt. Revd. Stephen Platten is the 12th Bishop of Wakefield. There are sixteen Church of England churches in the Wakefield deanery.
At the eastern end of the reserve there are several ponds surrounded by shrubbery and bushes. This attracts smaller species, amphibians, and insects.
Morley is a market town and civil parish within the metropolitan borough of the City of Leeds, in West Yorkshire, England. It lies approximately 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Leeds city centre. Together with Drighlington, Gildersome, Churwell, Tingley and East/West Ardsley, the town had a population of 47,579 in the 2001 census.[1] The civil parish had a population of 27,738.
